The Editorial and Creative team for The Public Interest Network seeks a Content Creator. We are looking for a smart, committed and detail-oriented candidate to join our team to tell and amplify the stories of our environmental campaigns through social media, blogs, email alerts, newsletters, annual reports and other print and digital content.
The Public Interest Network operates and supports organizations committed to a shared vision of a better world and a strategic approach to social change. The network includes PIRG (the Public Interest Research Group), Environment America, Green Corps, National Environmental Law Center and other organizations. We tackle some of the biggest challenges facing our country today, such as: delivering clean air, clean water and a livable climate to the next generation; transforming our energy and transportation systems for the 21st century; growing food in ways that leave both people and the planet healthier; and responding to the worst public health crisis in a century.
If these challenges speak to you, come talk to us. Take the first step by applying for a position.
The mission of the Editorial and Creative team is to help our network win the country over to our forward-looking agenda by messaging, packaging and amplifying our organizations, our campaigns and our staff.
Each content creator on our team is assigned to an organizational “beat” and tasked with finding and telling the best stories to advance our campaigns.
Our team is currently looking for a content creator to cover our environmental work. Take global warming. Environment America has won state and federal policies that clean up polluting power plants. U.S. PIRG has worked in dozens of states and cities for better public transportation. Green Century Funds has led the charge for fossil fuel-free investing. Frontier Group, our think tank, has researched the vast potential of renewable energy. Green Corps has trained new environmental organizers — and these organizers have gone on to take leading roles in the broader climate movement. And that's just one issue and just some of our groups.
The job of the content creator is to tell and amplify the stories of these campaigns through social media, blogs, email alerts, newsletters, annual reports and other print and digital content. Candidate must show excellent judgement, discretion and the ability to oversee significant projects.
These skills aren’t required, but they sure come in handy.
We plan on working 45-50 hours a week; sometimes we work more, sometimes less. Target annual compensation for this position is commensurate with relevant professional experience and/or advanced degrees. The Public Interest Network offers a competitive benefits package. We also offer an excellent training program and opportunities for advancement.
