FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — As Congress nears a deal on the Build Back Better Act, Environment Arizona delivered 3,100 constituent petition signatures to Rep. Tom O’Halleran’s Flagstaff office in support of bold federal action to address the climate crisis.

“Arizonans are ready for a future where we power our lives with renewable energy from the sun and wind and drive clean-powered cars, trucks and buses,” said Lisa Frank, executive director of Environment Arizona’s Washington Legislative Office. “That’s why District 1 residents are asking Congressman O’Halleran for big, bold investments in climate solutions like those in the proposed Build Back Better Act.”

The proposed legislation includes tax credits to expand solar and wind power in Arizona, reduce pollution from the electricity sector and help Arizonans buy electric vehicles and make energy efficiency upgrades to their homes.

Frank added: “We’re grateful for Congressman O’Halleran’s support of this important legislation in committee. Now, his constituents, who are already experiencing a historic drought made worse by climate change, are counting on him to get clean energy investments over the finish line.”
