Alaskans have a front-row view to some of our biggest environmental crises — and now, we’ll be on the front line of solving them.
On Jan. 20, Environment America launched Alaska Environment, our network’s 30th state environment group. For decades, our supporters have helped protect federal lands in Alaska — places like the Tongass National Forest and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge — from drilling, logging or development. Now, we can continue that work and expand our scope with campaigns focused on saving Bristol Bay from mining and on curbing electronic waste by building support for Right to Repair legislation.
To address these and other issues, Dyani Chapman will serve as Alaska Environment’s new state director.
“We have an essential role to play as environmental stewards,” said Dyani. “I’m so excited to work with the community to ensure future generations have the opportunity to appreciate all the beauty and abundance of this incredible place”
