Everyone Under the Sun: Hundreds rally to save California solar
Event unites Californians around rooftop solar power (and solar-powered ice cream)

Sunny days are for being outside, eating ice cream, and celebrating the promise of solar energy.
On Oct. 11, hundreds of solar supporters gathered at the California state capitol for the Environment California-sponsored “Everyone Under the Sun Rally and Festival.” Amid speeches, musical performances and sweet treats from a solar-powered ice cream truck, participants celebrated California’s clean energy progress and urged the state’s leaders to keep solar growing, and reject regulatory changes that would make solar more costly.
“It’s no accident that California is the nation’s solar leader, with now a million and a half solar rooftops; it’s the direct result of grassroots advocacy and state action to grow clean energy,” said Laura Deehan, Environment California state director. “Now we need our state leaders to double down on technologies like solar and storage and ensure that all Californians can enjoy the benefits of clean energy.”
