Colorado Allocates $65 Million for Electric School Buses

Governor Jared Polis signed a bill Thursday morning that, among other air-quality initiatives, will allocate $65 million towards transitioning Colorado’s school bus fleet from toxic diesel to zero-emission electric. This investment notably makes Colorado the nation’s leader in per-capita electric school bus investment. Our children deserve to ride to school without a daily dose of toxic pollution. This funding, along with federal funding from the EPA’s Clean School Bus Program, and the Volkswagen Settlement, put Colorado in the fast lane to upgrade its fleet.
