U.S. PIRG Education Fund Environment Campaigns Director Matt Casale explains the dangers of gas stoves and the benefits of electrifying our homes.

Cooking and heating and cooling our homes with electricity rather than gas is better for our health and for our climate. But how can we make it easier to make the switch?

To answer that question, U.S. PIRG Education Fund and Environment America Research & Policy Center held a webinar in September to provide practical tips to help people electrify their homes. Presenting to more than 250 viewers alongside U.S. Sens. Tina Smith and Martin Heinrich from Congress’ Electrification Caucus, our panelists explained how the Inflation Reduction Act is making it easier for everyday Americans to transition to electricity to power their homes and kitchens.

“The more we learn about gas stove pollution, the more clear it becomes: We need to stop cooking with gas in our homes,” said U.S. PIRG Education Fund Environment Campaigns Director Matt Casale. “The Inflation Reduction Act can help make that a reality by helping you ditch your gas stove and go all-electric or induction.”
