Week of action energizes campaign to go 100% clean in Massachusetts

Environment Massachusetts organized a week of action in support of the 100% Clean Act, which would transition the state to 100% clean electricity by 2035 and 100% clean heating and transportation by 2045.

Clean energy

The action level in our campaign for 100% Renewable Energy in Massachusetts reached a new high in October.

Environment Massachusetts organized a week of action in support of the 100% Clean Act, which would transition the state to 100% clean electricity by 2035 and 100% clean heating and transportation by 2045. Supporters made more than 500 phone calls to legislators and posted on the issue over 200 times on social media, while students and organizers across the state went door-to-door, canvassing local residents for support and urging them to contact their legislators.

“Our goal is to pass the 100% Clean Act into law before July 31, 2022,” said Ben Hellerstein, state director of Environment Massachusetts. “If we succeed, Massachusetts will have the strongest clean energy commitment of any state in the country.”

If Environment Massachusetts achieves our goal, the state will become the 10th to commit by law to 100% clean energy.
